Beyoncé Giselle Knowles, popularly known as Beyonce, was born in Houston, Texas in 1981 to Matthew (a Xerox Sales Manager) and Tina Knowles (a salonist). She rose to fame as the main singer of Destiny’s Child in the 1990s.
Beyonce has released over 82 singles and sold over 118 million records as a solo artist. The multiple MTV and Grammy Awards winner has sold more than 11 million copies worldwide of her first solo album, Dangerously in Love. She has live, studio, soundtrack, compilation, and karaoke albums besides five EPs.
Beyonce is not only just one of the best-selling music artists of all time but also an excellent businesswoman. Some of her businesses include Ivy Park, an athleisure clothing brand, and Parkwood Entertainment, a production label.

She started singing at only seven years old!
Beyonce started singing at only seven years of age. Her talent became apparent during a talent event in Houston. Her performance of John Lennon’s “Imagine” received a standing ovation from the crowd. From there, her father would take her to participate in more local competitions.
She won 35 of them in a row!
Since then, she has never looked back.
Her lucky number is four
Beyonce was born on September 4.
Hip-hop artist Jay Z, Beyonce’s husband, was born on December 4.
They got wedded on April 4.
Her mom’s birthday is also on January 4.
It’s so easy to see why four is her favorite number. She loves the number so much that she named her fourth studio album just “4.” The number is also tattoed on her ring finger in numerical symbols.

Beyoncé is the first female artist to have her first six studio albums hit and debut at number one on the Billboard 200 Chart.
The sixth album, Lemonade, broke the record when it sold over 653,000 units within a week of its release.
It also got her multiple Grammy nominations in that year.

In 2013, the former president invited the ‘Crazy in Love’ singer to perform at his second presidential inauguration. Nearly 20.6 million people watched the singer perform ‘The Star-Spangled Banner.’
At the 2009 Inaugural Ball, the singer’s rendition of Etta James’ “At Last” reduced the audience to tears.
Her whole remuneration from the film ‘Cadillac Records’ was donated to charity.
After spending time at one of their institutions to prepare for her role as Etta James in the film, she donated her pay to a Phoenix House, a US drug treatment centre.
“As I listened to their stories, I understood that we all have our own particular difficulties and obstacles to conquer. Addiction is a sickness, and all of these ladies I met did not choose to become addicts; instead, they chose to get healthy,” she remarked while recounting her story.
She and her mother expanded their charitable efforts by working with Phoenix House Career Academy to build the Beyoncé Cosmetology Centre.
Beyoncé has received the most Grammy nominations and awards of any woman in Grammy history.
The singer has won 28 awards out of the 79 nominations she has been honoured to attend.
Best R&B performance for ‘Drunk in Love,’ song of the year for ‘Single Ladies,’ and best music video for ‘Formation’ are among her significant victories.
Beyoncé has already won four of her nine nominations before the year is through.
Before Jay Z, she only had one relationship.
Beyoncé admitted to just having one relationship before meeting her husband.
In 2008, she told The Telegraph, “I had my first boyfriend when I was 12, 13 years old, and we were together until I was 17. That was a long time at that age. I’ve always been a loyal and mature individual. Though I was too young to have a boyfriend, we didn’t live together, we didn’t, you know…that was my only experience with a man, and I’ve only had one other boyfriend since then- Jay.”
When she was in her teens, she performed in front of customers at her mother’s salon.
“I grew up in a family with a hairstylist for a mother. My mother would let me sweep up the hair, and if enough people were interested, my buddies and I would perform for the customers at the hair salon.
‘I don’t want to hear this,’ said the majority of them. “But we forced them to listen, and then we demanded money,” she recounted in her documentary, “Life Is But a Dream.”
She was successful in adding a new word to the Oxford English Dictionary.
